On a more personal note, Kel and I took a mini vacay over the weekend. When our work schedules get crazy even a 24 hour trip can be relaxing and good for the soul. We zipped up to Montecito Sunday afternoon for a quick overnight stay at San Ysidro Ranch aka Heaven on Earth.
The property covers over 500 acres and features 41 guest cottages and suites and is known for its privacy and tranquility. Over the years they have hosted icons such as Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby, and Audrey Hepburn. John F. Kennedy and Jackie honeymooned at the Ranch and the cottage in which they stayed is now named after them.
There are two restaurants on property, The Stonehouse and Plow and Angel. They have a stunning chef's garden and citrus orchard as well, that is utilized heavily on both restaurant menus and in their signature cocktails. I can tell you from experience, the estate blood orange margaritas were perfection.
