Seatown Seabar & Rotisserie
Tom Douglas' newest venture (well, newest open venture as there are several other projects currently in the works that are slated for early 2011 openings) is Seatown Seabar & Rotisserie. Located at the North end of Pike Place Market on Western Avenue it's an ideal place to stop after you've perused your way through the market and are looking for a place to stop and grab a refreshment.
We ordered ourselves some cold beers (Hitachino Nest White Ale to be exact) and a couple of small plates to share. We got some of the Penn Cove Select Oysters with a classic Mignonette, "Wild Thing" Dungeness Crab with Avocado and Tobiko, Peel and Eat Baja Prawns with DIY cocktail sauce, and Sticky Ribs with Fresh Pear and Chinese Mustard. I LOVED the crab - it had this tasty sriracha mayo paired with it and the Do-it-yourself cocktail sauce with the prawns was genius. They brought you their basic cocktail sauce and then a selection of things to enhance it with - tabasco, worcestershire, lemon, and horseradish... fun, right?
Next door to the restaurant they have a to-go rotisserie shop with all sorts of roasted meats and sandwiches, etc. My pal Hershell helps run the show over there and he gave us some samples of his house-made pastrami. Holy melt-in-you-mouth awesomeness. During their Happy Snack Hour you can get one of his daily sandwiches for a buck an inch!
