This year in honor of my brother's 27th birthday we hosted a Tiki Dinner Party complete with tiki torches, guava mai tais and coconut cake. We asked guests to dress in festive Hawaiian attire and filled our home with fresh orchids and palm leaves.

The evening started with assorted Pu Pus:

Whole Fried Local Ridgeback Prawns from Santa Barbara dunked in Hot Chili Sauce

Coconut Chicken Satay and Farmers Market Vegetable Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce

Grilled Kurabuta Sausages with Spicy Mustard

For cocktails, we served fresh Guava Mai Tais - all the way - complete with little umbrellas, fresh pineapple and stir sticks along with ice cold Tahitian beers.

Sit-down Dinner followed with Bone-in Hawaiian Ribeye Steaks, Japanese Tomato Salad, Charred Broccolini and Six Layer Coconut Cake to finish. We ended the evening with full bellies and even fuller hearts. Our resident photographer, Wylie West Creative, was on hand to capture some of the magic. We are already counting down the days to Mateo's next birthday. xx
