I am still reeling over the fabulousness that was my bridal shower last weekend. Hosted by my twin sister, Boo (of Wylie West Creative), and soul sister, Lydia (of Apples and Onions LA) at my Aunt and Uncles home nestled high up on the hill dividing Torrance and Palos Verdes. The theme was Copacabana and every detail from food to cocktails to decor was glam to the max.

The Entry was flocked with handmade peach, pink, and gold streamers, gold dipped lawn flamingos, and chic palm fans for each guest. Boo also designed the welcome sign framed in reclaimed wood.

Lydia handled the creation and prep of the menu and Boo helped with layout and design. It is taking some serious self-control to not go into crazy detail about the food but I want to hold out as  Lydia will be sharing those delicious details on her blog, Apples and Onions, very soon. I'll share the link as soon as it is up. But trust me, it was all so gorgeous and tasty.

The outside area was transformed into a Carmen Miranda inspired wonderland complete with headband bar, stunning photo backdrop and bar area all created by Wylie West Creative. My Aunt Kathy went down to the LA flower mart and picked up loads of stunning tropical flowers for pops of color throughout the party. Lydia provided special touches in all of her menu items and even brought the cake knife and server that she used at her own wedding for serving my cakes as a gesture of good luck and wishes for my upcoming marriage.
The Drink menu consisted of classic Caipirinhas (Brazil's national cocktail with fresh sugar cane and lime served in real coconut cups),  "Mrs. Hendrix Punch" (a mai-tai inspired rum cocktail with fresh citrus and watermelon juice), and one of my favorites from Gruet Winery, Sparkling Rose (served with little mermaids on the glass). My handsome little brother made a cameo as the bartender :)

The Guest Book was so thoughtful too. Boo made a recipe card box (a nod to my love of the kitchen) and labeled it "Recipes for a Happy Marriage" where guests could take a recipe card and share their best tips.

I feel overwhelmingly grateful and blessed to be surrounded by such a beautiful and loving group of family and friends. The day was extra special because my mom and big sister both flew in to be there (one from northern California and one from Oregon).  It was all so perfect. So much love ...and fun!

The favors (another nod to one of my most favorite things) were a selection of Mast Brother Chocolate Bars tied with little kraft tags that were stamped with a pink flamingo. Loved it. So. Much.
