Sodastream Penguin Water Carbonator

Williams-Sonoma is selling what might be the coolest toy of the summer, a sodastream water carbonator by Penguin ($199.95).  The device is eco-friendly and transforms ordinary tap water into fresh sparkling water that can be enjoyed by itself or as the base for homemade sodas or cocktails. You simply fill the reusable glass carafe with  water, insert it into the Penguin and press the carbonating "beak". You can also customize the amount of fizz that you put into each batch based on your personal preference. No batteries or electricity are required. Each set includes two 20 oz carafes with stoppers and two refillable CO2 cartridges (each cartridge carbonates up to 60 carafes). 

Ideas for the sparkling water: homemade sparkling lemonade, sparkling cranberry juice cocktails, vodka and sodas, and white wine spritzers. You can mix and match with muddled fresh fruits like raspberries, blueberries, or peaches and add in your favorite vodka or rum (think homemade mojitos). Cheers!
